Air Brush – No Needles, No Drills, No Pain!

caring-dental-of-spotswood-airabrasionMany people associate the high-pitched whirring of a dental drill with pain. Just the sound alone can make many people wince.

A relatively new technique called air brush uses powerful particles of aluminum oxide to remove debris and decay. The most exciting thing for patients is that air brush is painless and, in most cases, doesn’t require an anesthetic.

Cavities and imperfections on a tooth can be fixed using air brush. Although air brush is not suitable for work on crowns and bridges, it is often used for bonding procedures, and on tooth restorations involving composite, or tooth-colored fillings.

E4D  Same-Day Crowns

Dr. Matthew Sorkin is proud to offer the E4D Same-Day Digital Dentistry technology that allows crowns to be made the same day. If you’ve ever needed a crown put on one of your teeth, you know it usually takes more than one appointment, more than one shot of anesthetic, and more than a little bit of patience while you wear a temporary crown for 2+ weeks. Dr. Sorkin believes patients deserve modern dentistry that fits their busy lifestyles. We can now provide Same-Day Crowns through Patient-Focused Technology!

Using the E4D technology to offer our patients Same-Day Crowns, Dr. Sorkin and his team are able to restore any tooth that is decayed, weakened, broken, etc. to its natural strength and beauty – using all-ceramic materials which are tooth-colored and milled right in our office. The other benefit to our patients, this process is accomplished without temporaries or additional visits and their treatment is completed in a single visit, in about an hour!

The E4D Same-Day Crown process utilizes a digital impression system – eliminating the Messy Goop and Uncomfortable Impression Trays to provide same day dental restorations without temporary crowns.  No More Goop! No More Gagging!

Health Benefits E4D Same-Day Dentistry Offers Our Patients

  • Uses long-lasting, natural looking porcelain/ceramic material
  • Metal-free restorations free of potentially harmful mercury
  • Perfect for situations like chipped, worn or cracked teeth
  • E4D technology is ideal for teeth that are discolored or have gaps and spaces between them
  • Teeth can also be repaired that have decay and/or old, worn fillings.

You don’t have to go to a specialist or travel for this type of dental care. Dr, Sorkin is invested in this patient-focused technology for you. Same-Day Crowns offer you quality care in less time for the dentistry you need, and the comfort and convenience you deserve.

Digital imaging is available in our practice. This technology offers unparalleled benefits over traditional radiographs. An image is taken of your mouth with a digital sensor and downloaded into our computer, where it is immediately available. With results of 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays, they’re convenient, safe for the environment, and best of all, Digital X-Rays are safer for our patients.

Intra-Oral Camera

An intra-oral camera is designed to take video or still photography. Dr. Sorkin can show you exactly what is going on inside your mouth and highlight areas where medical attention may be needed.

Magnification Optics

caring-dental-of-spotswood-magnificationoptics

You’ve always been told – seeing is believing. Dr. Sorkin believes this as well, as he can’t treat what he can’t see, and exceptional dentistry requires an expert attention to detail. With the use of magnification optics, Dr. Sorkin is able to visualize things not otherwise perceptible to the naked eye. Not only improving the quality of care for his patients, but the use of the magnification optics also allows for an expanded range of treatments offered.

The Benefits of Magnification:

  • Magnified Image
  • Increasing Precision
  • More Accurate Diagnosis
  • Improved Dental Care

Panoramic Digital X-Rays

caring-dental-of-spotswood-panoramicxraysPanoramic x-rays show the entire mouth area – all the teeth in both the upper and lower jaws – on a single x-ray. This type of x-ray is useful for detecting the position of fully emerged as well as emerging teeth. It can also identify impacted teeth, and aid in the diagnosis of tumors.

This x-ray provides a full picture of your whole mouth, providing Dr. Sorkin with images of your upper and lower jaw, sinuses and jaw joint. The purpose of panoramic x-ray is to show the general condition of all the teeth, and is used to help document general tooth development, trauma, jaw joint pain, wisdom teeth, bone loss and certain abnormalities.

Soft Tissue Laser

caring-dental-of-spotswood-softtissuelaserFor patients who find the vibration and high-pitched whine of traditional drills uncomfortable, there is another solution: laser dentistry. With this device there is no cause for heat or vibration in the mouth, and improves our patients’ comfort levels drastically, and is technologically advanced in that it can be used for treatments such as periodontal therapy (treatment for gum disease), or for cosmetic treatments like gum recontouring.

This innovative treatment uses laser-energized, cool water spray to cut soft tissue without generating any heat. And unlike some traditional dentistry procedures, the soft tissue laser will not irreversibly damage the soft tissue or pulp underneath your teeth. Cutting-edge, effective, and reliable, the soft tissue dental laser is the solution many patients have been waiting for.

WaterLase

caring-dental-of-spotswood-waterlaseAre you scared of going to the dentist because you’ll hear the dreaded drill screeching in your ear? The WaterLase is a dental laser that enables a dentist to use minimal and even no anesthetic or drills to perform many routine dental procedures! No Needles, No Drills, No Pain!

Dr. Sorkin is proud to use this cutting-edge WaterLase technology for the comfort (and relief) of his patients.
